Josh joins the Yarra River Keeper

Taking a boat ride down the Yarra gives you a new perspective. In his role as Riverkeeper, Ian Penrose has a great passion for protecting Melbourne’s iconic river. For me it was a valuable opportunity to hear about a range of issues affecting the Yarra’s health including water quality and reduced flows.


Listening to Local Traders

Pictured here with Ian Bird, President of the Balwyn Traders Association. Across the electorate local traders have raised various issues of concern including – too much red tape, a rising incidence of crime against property and the negative impact of extended clearways to their business.


Enjoying the Fellowship of Rotary

Pictured with President Tony Wells after speaking at the Rotary Club of North Balwyn. Kooyong is fortunate to have a number of very active Rotary clubs within its boundaries with North Balwyn one of the largest clubs. North Balwyn Rotary has done an enormous amount of good work to support a variety of important projects both here and abroad – one major project was helping to provide a residence for homeless youth at Jack Nankervis House.


Local Mayor opens Josh’s Campaign Office

Boorondara Mayor Jack Wegman officially opened Josh's campaign office in front of over 100 people. Centrally located in the heart of Kew Junction the office has become the engine room of the campaign and is a second home for the many volunteers contributing to campaign preparations.


Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey Visits Kooyong

Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey visited Kooyong in support of our campaign where he outlined the many failings of the Rudd Government, particularly their mismanagement of the great economic legacy left to them by John Howard and Peter Costello.


Noel Pearson at the Kooyong 200 Club

Last year, the founder of the Cape York Institute for Policy and Leadership was the guest speaker at a Kooyong 200 Club lunch. Noel’s powerful advocacy for a new approach to meet the challenges facing remote indigenous communities was both persuasive and inspiring.
