City of Boroondara Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony

On January 26, Josh welcomed proud new Australian citizens at the City of Boroondara Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony. The Ceremony also recognised the winner of the City of Boroondara Citizen of the Year, Norman Gale; winner of the Young Citizen of the Year, Daniel Cronin; and winner of the Boroondara Community Service Award, Robert Pettit. Josh is pictured with the family and colleagues of Daniel Cronin, the Young Citizen of the Year, who is currently overseas. Daniel is co-founder and Chief Executive of Step Back Think Inc, a not-for-profit organisation aimed at reducing levels of alcohol fuelled violence amongst young people.

Meeting with Professor Patrick McGorry

On December 14, Josh met with Professor Patrick McGorry AO, Australian of the Year, at the Early Psychosis Prevention and Intervention Centre (EPIC), Parkville. Professor McGorry is an inspiring clinician, researcher and public advocate for mental health reform. The meeting provided an important opportunity to hear from those working in the sector about the pressing need for reform. Josh is pictured here with Professor McGorry.

The CorriLee Foundation Annual Tennis Charity

On 12 December, Josh participated in the The Children's Variety Club's charity tennis day at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.  Josh joined with some former tennis greats for a hit on the grass courts and is pictured here with tennis greats John Fitzgerald, Ken Rosewall, Paul McNamee and Member for Bennelong, John Alexander MP.

Kooyong Community Forum

On December 9, Josh hosted the first Kooyong Community Forum at the Marwal Centre, North Balwyn. The night was a great success with over 100 members of the local community coming together with their elected representatives to raise issues of interest to them. All three levels of government were represented with Josh being joined on stage by the new Boroondara Mayor, Cr Nicholas Tragas, and the State Member for Kew, Andrew McIntosh, the newly appointed Victorian Minister for Corrections, Crime Prevention and the Establishment of an Anti-corruption Commission.

Congratulations to Cr Nicholas Tragas Boroondara’s New Mayor

On December 7, Josh attended a Boroondara Civic Reception held to announce the new Mayor for 2010 – 2011. Josh is pictured here with outgoing Mayor Cr Jack Wegman and newly appointed Mayor Cr Nicholas Tragas. Josh would like to pay tribute to the outstanding leadership displayed by Cr Jack Wegman throughout his mayoral term and he looks forward to working closely with Cr Nicholas Tragas and his fellow Councillors over the coming year.


Strathcona Presentation Night

On December 6, Josh attended the Strathcona Presentation Night at the Melbourne Town Hall. The evening opened with a spectacular rendition of Amazing Grace and included many other impressive performances ranging from dance, drama and music to public speaking. The night was testament to the diverse talent of Strathcona students and showcased what was a very successful year for the school. Josh is pictured with 2010 Deputy School Captain Sarah Wilson after she was awarded the Old Strathconian Prize.

Poll declared in Burwood

On December 6, Josh watched on as Graham Watt was officially declared the member for the Victorian seat of Burwood.  Congratulations to Graham, pictured here with Josh, and well done to the whole team.

K200 Christmas Drinks

On December 5, Josh joined fellow members of the Kooyong 200 Club for the annual Christmas Drinks function. Josh is pictured here with Victorian Liberal Party State President David Kemp, the newly appointed Victorian Minister for Corrections, Crime Prevention and the Establishment of an Anti-corruption Commission, Andrew McIntosh, former Minister and Senator Dame Margaret Guilfoyle AC and Dr Anona Armstrong AM.
