Sacred Heart Church Celebrates 120 Years

On October 9, Josh attended the Celebration of Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Kew. It was a special service in what is a spectacular church. The First Week of the 43rd Federal Parliament

On 28 September Josh was officially sworn in as the Federal Member for Kooyong. It was a day of historic firsts, with the youngest Member ever 20 year old Wyatt Roy, the first Muslim elected to the Parliament Ed Husic and the first indigenous Member of theHouse of Representatives Ken Wyatt all taking their places in the 43rd Parliament the

Opening of AUSVEG’s New Office in Kooyong

On 14 September, Josh attended the opening of AUSVEG’s new office on Burke Road. AUSVEG is the national peak industry body acting on behalf of Australia’s vegetable and potato growers. Josh is pictured here with AUSVEG CEO Richard Mulcahy, AUSVEG Chairman John Brent and Elders CEO Malcolm Jackman.

First Canberra Trip as the Member for Kooyong

On 9 September, Josh made his first trip to Canberra for the Coalition’s Party Room meeting. It was a terrific opportunity to hear from Tony Abbott and Julie Bishop and to meet my new colleagues. The team is united and focused on the challenge ahead. We were fortunate that after the meeting, Tony joined the class of 2010, pictured here, for a bite to eat.

Boroondara Scouts AGM

On 7 September, Josh attended the Boroondara Scouts AGM at Macleay Park, Balwyn North. The district continues to go from strength to strength with 19 groups and over 900 young members – there are a remarkable 129 leaders and 31 adult helpers who also contribute. This year the Jamboree was held in Woollongong as well as many other fun activities. Josh is pictured here with Mayor Jack Wegman, Boroondara District Secretary Desley Reid, and Scouts Chief Commissioner Bob Taylor.

Visit to Strathcona Art Show, Hawthorn

On 5 September, Josh visited the renowned Strathcona Art Show at Tay Creggan, on Yarra Street, Hawthorn. A magnificent historic building on the Yarra River Tay Creggan is home to the Year 9 girls and is one of the School's three campuses. Josh is pictured here with the School Principal Helen Hughes, Joanne and Jess Wilson.

Fathers Day Breakfast at All Hallows Primary School, Balwyn

On 3 September, Josh joined fathers and students at the All Hallows Primary School Fathers Day breakfast. It was a great morning replete with a sizzling BBQ, speeches and the mandatory raffle. Josh is pictured here with School Principal Michael O'Riley and David Huggins of the Catholic Education Office.

Grand Final Day for Kew Rovers Junior Football Club

On 29 August, three teams from the Kew Rovers Junior Football Club made it to Grand Final day - Under 12s, 14s & 17s. The Under 14s and Under 17s both had victories leading to much celebration at the Club. Josh is pictured here speaking to the Under 17's Kew Colts Kangaroos before the game. Later that evening hundreds of players and parents gathered at Stradbroke Park for presentations and a bite to eat. Congratulations to President Jeff Hooper and his hard working committee for giving so much of their time and effort to making 2010 another great year for the Kew Rovers.

Election Day, 21 August 2010

On 21 August, hundreds of volunteers joined Josh in manning over 30 polling booths across the Kooyong Electorate. While some votes are still to be counted it looks like we will get a terrific result in Kooyong and Josh is looking forward to having the privilege of representing the people of Kooyong.
