New Aquatic & Fitness Centre

On March 17, Josh visited Strathcona Baptist Girls Grammar, Canterbury. Josh met with students and staff and saw their new aquatic and fitness centre. Josh is pictured here in the new gym.


National Ride2School Day

On March 16, Josh attended National Ride2School Day at Auburn South Primary School, Hawthorn East. National Ride 2 School Day highlights the benefits to kids as well as the environment that are gained when children ride, scoot or walk to school. Josh is picture here with a group of grade 3 students from Auburn South Primary School.

 


New Vicar at Christ Church Anglican Church

On March 15, Josh attended the Institution of Rev. Andrew Dircks at Christ Church Anglican Church, Hawthorn. Josh is pictured here with the new Vicar, Rev. Dircks, the Archbishop of Melbourne, the Most Rev. Dr Phillip Freie, and Assistant Minister of Christ Church, Rev. Nathanael Clarke.


Boroondara Netball Association AGM

On March 15, Josh addressed the Boroondara Netball Association AGM at Boroondara Sports Complex, Balwyn North. Josh also presented an award to Grant Kennerley for his outstanding contribution to the Association. Josh is pictured here with Grant, president of the Association, Dr Sue Reddish, Boroondara mayor, Cr Nicholas Tragas, and Boroondara councillors, Cr Brad Miles, Cr David Bloom and Cr Dick Menting.


Old Xavierians Soccer Club

On March 9, Josh joined players from the Old Xavierians Soccer Club  for their training session at Willsmere Park, Kew East. As the Club prepares for a big 2011 season, president Hugh Tobin and coach Damian Cilmi presented Josh with his own OXSC playing shirt. Josh is pictured here with the playing squad.


Boroondara Volunteer Expo

On March 9, Josh attended the Boroondara Volunteer Expo at the Hawthorn Town Hall. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet with many of the community groups who rely on volunteer support. The organisers involved must be commended on this opportunity. Josh is pictured here with workers from Balwyn Welfare Association and the Evergreen Club, Leonie Legge and Brenda Dennis.

 


Parliamentary Role-Play at Kew Primary School

On March 9, Josh joined Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon Peter Slipper MP, as he conducted a special parliamentary role-play with the grade 5 students of Kew Primary School, Kew. The Parliamentary Education Office' role-play is a terrific opportunity to experience what it is like to be a parliamentarian. Josh is pictured here with Mr Slipper and the grade 5 students.    


Boroondara Citizenship Ceremony

On March 8, Josh attended Boroondara Council's Citizenship Ceremony at Hawthorn Town Hall, Hawthorn. These are wonderful occasions to welcome new Australians. Josh is pictured speaking at the ceremony.      


Celebrating International Women's Day in Kooyong

On March 8, Josh joined the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Tony Abbott MHR, at Strathcona Girls Baptist Grammar School, Canterbury. Principal Helen Hughes, Tony and the school captain, Melissa Allan, spoke at a special assembly and Josh presented the school with an Australian Flag. Josh is pictured here with Tony and a number of Strathcona students.


Clean Up Australia Day by the Yarra

On March 6, Josh joined many volunteers from around the electorate at Studley Park Boat House for Clean Up Australia Day. After taking to the water in a canoe Josh spotted a an bicycle stuck in the muddied embankment. He is pictured here pulling out the bike so it can be disposed of properly.
