Photography Exhibition at QPO

On September 4, Josh spoke at the opening of a special photography exhibition Land Is Life at QPO, Kew. Organised by Oxfam, the photos were from Tuvulu and Kirribas and detailed the impact rising sea levels and changes in climatic conditions were having in peoples lives. Josh is pictured here with some of the guests present.


Auburn Primary School

On September 2, Josh joined students and their families at Auburn Primary School, Hawthorn, for Grandparents Day. Josh is pictured here with Boorondara councillor, Cr Dick Menting, principal Marcia Lane, and school captains, Ant, Bella, Holly and Jack.


National Year of Reading

On September 1, Josh attended the launch of National Year of Reading 2012 at his old school Bialik College, Hawthorn. The winners of the Adult Learners' Week short story writing competition were also announced. Josh is pictured here with Bialik librarian David Feighan.


Open of AMGEN's new office

On September 1, Josh opened AMGEN's new offices in Cotham Road, Kew. AMGEN is a leading international bio-technology company with a strong domestic presence and reputation for innovation in life-saving medications. Josh is pictured here with the managing director, Ian Thompson, and executive medical director, Dr Mark Tennyson.


Local Sporting Champions

On August 30, 2011 Josh hosted afternoon tea for some of the successful grant recipients of  the Local Sporting Champions Program along with their families. Josh is pictured here with Eliza St Hill and John Cichello, both of whom have been selected to compete in the national championships for Kayaking and Weightlifting respectively.


Xavier College Canberra Writers’ Tour

On August 30, Josh presented Year 10 Xavier College students with certificates to commemorate their visit to Parliament House. The Year 10 students were part of the Canberra Writers’ Tour who undertook research at the Australian War Memorial and National Archives as part of their writing project on Australia in war. 


Burke Hall Assembly

On August 30, during National Literacy and Numeracy Week, Josh visited Xavier College Burke Hall to address the school assembly. In his address Josh spoke about the importance of both academic and non-academic pursuits and helping others who are less fortunate than oneself.


Mary MacKillop Building, Burke Hall, Xavier College

On August 29, Josh joined the Xavier College Burke Hall Community for the opening of its new Mary MacKillop building. Josh is pictured here with students and Father Tom Renshaw SJ.


Camberwell Community Centre AGM

On August 26, Josh attended the Camberwell Community Centre's Annual General Meeting and heard about the great work the Centre and its many volunteers are doing for the local community. Josh is pictured here with the President, Margaret Rogers, and Manager, Jenny Fuge.


Hartwell Primary School's "Hart Art"

On August 26, Josh attended Hartwell Primary School's art show, Hart Art. Josh, who purchased one of the many wonderful works on display, is pictured here with principal, Kristine Moore, assistant principal, Lisa Banks, and students.
