St Barnabas ‘Day for Dono’

On October 16, Josh attended a BBQ at St Barnabas Cricket Club, located in Balwyn. The’ Day for Dono’ event was held in support of much-loved stalwart of the club, Neil Donaldson as he tackles his ongoing health battle. Josh is pictured here with Neil Donaldson’s father Gordon Donaldson, St Barnabas President Gavin Collopy and Social Events Manager Carol Tzemis.


Camberwell Grammar School

On October 14, Josh attended the opening of Camberwell Grammar School’s VCE Art & Design Exhibition and the opening of their Old Grammarian’s Art Exhibition. Josh is pictured here with artist and former student Jamie Mulvaney and Principal Dr Paul Hicks.


Active After School Care at Glenferrie Primary School

On October 14, Josh joined the Australian Sports Commission at Glenferrie Primary School to recognise the school’s after schools hours care program. It was absolutely fantastic to see so many young kids playing sport in a fun and safe environment. Congratulations to Glenferrie AASC Coordinator Jodie Goldstraw and the kids who are pictured here with Josh.


Hawthorn Secondary wins Major Prize

On October 14, Josh attended Hawthorn Secondary College for the presentation of the National Australia Bank’s Schools Award for the College’s wonderful digital storytelling project. In a partnership with Uniting Aged Care Victoria Tasmania (UACVT) Elgin Street Centre, students interviewed older members of our community about their life story. Listening to Carers – A visit to Alzheimers Australia

On October 14, Josh met with Alzheimer’s Australia Vic Consumer Advisory Committee. It was a great opportunity to meet with a number of carers from the local community, to discuss the many challenges they face in their role. Josh also took the opportunity to promote Carers Week 2010, being held to celebrate the valuable contribution carers make to the lives of the individuals they support. Sacred Heart Church Celebrates 120 Years

On October 9, Josh attended the Celebration of Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Kew. It was a special service in what is a spectacular church. The First Week of the 43rd Federal Parliament

On 28 September Josh was officially sworn in as the Federal Member for Kooyong. It was a day of historic firsts, with the youngest Member ever 20 year old Wyatt Roy, the first Muslim elected to the Parliament Ed Husic and the first indigenous Member of theHouse of Representatives Ken Wyatt all taking their places in the 43rd Parliament the

Opening of AUSVEG’s New Office in Kooyong

On 14 September, Josh attended the opening of AUSVEG’s new office on Burke Road. AUSVEG is the national peak industry body acting on behalf of Australia’s vegetable and potato growers. First Canberra Trip as the Member for Kooyong

On 9 September, Josh made his first trip to Canberra for the Coalition’s Party Room meeting. It was a terrific opportunity to hear from Tony Abbott and Julie Bishop and to meet my new colleagues. The team is united and focused on the challenge ahead. We were fortunate that after the meeting, Tony joined the class of 2010, pictured here, for a bite to eat.
