Hartwell Primary School's "Hart Art"

On August 26, Josh attended Hartwell Primary School's art show, Hart Art. Josh, who purchased one of the many wonderful works on display, is pictured here with principal, Kristine Moore, assistant principal, Lisa Banks, and students.

Balwyn Post Office Breakthrough

On August 23, Josh was delighted to announce that the Kooyong community campaign to secure a post office in Balwyn has been successful with Australia Post agreeing to establish a Licensed Post Office on the Whitehorse Road shopping strip. Josh is extremely grateful for the strong support given by the local community, including the more than 5000 people who signed the petition he lodged in the Parliament on this important issue. AUJS visit to Canberra

On August 22, Josh was one of a number of parliamentarians from both sides of politics who met with a delegation from the Australian Union of Jewish Students in Parliament House. Josh is pictured here addressing the students.

5/6 RVR Sergeants' & Officers' Mess Regimental Dinner

On August 20, Josh joined the officers, warrant officers and sergeants of the 5th/6th Battalion, The Royal Victoria Regiment, at Club Hawthorn for their annual dinner. Josh is pictured here with Lieutenant Colonel Clarke, Commanding Officer of the 5th/6th Battalion and Colonel Raike. 

Camberwell High School 70th Anniversary Celebrations

On August 14, Josh joined hundreds of former students and Camberwell High School families for the school's 70th birthday celebrations. Camberwell High opened in 1941 with over 350 girls and boys and has since grown so that it now provides a first class education to 1200 students. Visitors were treated to a fantastic performance by the school orchestra and outline of the plans for the soon to be built innovation centre. Josh is pictured here with school principal Jill Laughlin and school captains Samantha Hunt and Tom Osborne.

Visit to WesTrac

On August 11, Josh visited WesTrac’s Caterpillar facility in Perth. A major operation employing hundreds of people the facility is a hub for the repair and sale of major construction and mining equipment. Josh is pictured here with Jim Walker, CEO of the WesTrac Group, and some of their talented employees.

Oil and gas site visit in WA

On August 10, Josh travelled with a delegation from the Australian American Leadership Dialogue to Karratha and then to see some of the significant offshore oil exploration activities taking place in the region. Josh is pictured here at a gas production facility.

Maranoa Close Retirement Village

On August 8, Josh visited the Maranoa Close Retirement Village, Balwyn. Managers and hosts Roy and Pam Weir organised a wonderful afternoon tea with many of Maranoa’s residents in attendance.  Josh is pictured here with some of the cheery residents.

Erasmus School

On August 8, Josh visited Erasmus School, Hawthorn, where he had lunch with teachers and students. Josh is pictured here with the principal of Erasmus School, Glen Miller, and some of his students.‪‪

New chapel of St Mary of the Cross (MacKillop), Sacred Heart Church

On August 8, Josh attended the blessing and opening of the new chapel of St Mary of the Cross (MacKillop) at Sacred Heart Church, Kew. The service was also an opportunity for members of the parish to celebrate Fr Michael Kalka's thirty years as an ordained Catholic priest. Josh is pictured here with Sr Josephine Dubiel, provincial of the Sisters of St Joseph, Bishop Tomlinson, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, and Fr Kalka.
